Known for breeding bloodhounds with outstanding size, training, intelligence and tracking abilities

Whether from a trainer or from your own dog, is there a specific instance that you can recall that changed something about the way you train for the better?
*WOW* - some great answers here! Very cool!

I just moved to town (i use to live in the country) and I am wanting to train my dogs to walk with a leash what are some good tips for me on training them?

I have a two year old bloodhound and he is impossible off the lead. I know it is really hard to train them but does anyone have a fail proof way to get them to come back to you, or is he forever lead bound?
P.S He doesnt even look up when you call him

How can I train him to get used to me and what I want him to do? Like not running away or in the street, coming when I call, etc.
